In 2002, reading the local newspaper one night, Ross spied an add for night classes at Wairarapa college, “Come and build your own sports car”, or something to that effect. Knowing how Ross loved mucking about in the garage, his wife Jean was keen for him to give it a go on. With that sort of recommendation he signed up.

Somewhere along the way he found out that you have to have a qualified certifier to oversee the construction. One was found one and he seemed happy at what was happening. After a couple of years Ross became frustrated with the two hours a week work at night school on the chassis, so he took it home as a rolling chassis, from then on it was 40 hours a month for the next two years or so.

Unfortunately when it came time to certify the certifier had gone from happy to downright grumpy and it was thanks to the certifiers in the club that the car was able to get compliance after Ross had made a few changes.

The car is powered by the Ford Pinto motor which drives through a Sierra gearbox to and Escort diff. Front hubs are Cortina along with the wiring loom, dashboard and dials.
