Bill's car is one of only nine Costin Amigos that were ever built. The Amigo that Bill has is one of the two cars that were unfinished when production was stopped in 1972. This car was bought off Frank Costin’s son Hick who finished building it in 1979. The story of how Bill came to get the car is rather too long to mention here.

When originally built the Amigo was priced close to the Jaguar E Type. It was a car designed to be right. It is a very aerodynamic car with a drag coefficient of only 0.29. Every curve of the car is designed to make it cut the air more smoothly. The motor was modified so that the car could get where it wanted to be quite quickly.

The mechanics of the car are mainly Vauxhall Victor as Frank once was driving a rented Vauxhall and he was quite impressed with the car so much that he asked them if they would supply him with new Vauxhall components, which they agreed to do. The car has a marine-ply chassis with reinforcing strips of pine bonded on. On top of the marine-ply, the Amigo was finished with glassfibre panels to a very smooth finish.

Getting in and out of the car is somewhat awkward, similar to the Lambourghini as the Amigo has very deep door sills. In its day it was an exceptional car with good looks and very impressive handling.
