This Piranha was originally built by David Saxby who sold it in 2007 and the car eventually found its way to Kevin in April of 2009. Only six of the Piranha’s were ever made in Napier, which makes this car quite rare.
The car is in Kevin's opinion a reasonable copy of the series 3 Lotus which were in production around 1968 so the drive train, gear box, steering and suspension are much the same as the original lotus specifications. However since it was built it has been updated with front disk brakes and a Toyota 4 AGE motor mated to a K50 gearbox with a Ford Escort rear end with Koni adjustable shocks all round.
Although Kevin is very pleased with his purchase he intends to change the colour from red to black and build wet weather protection for it.
