George has had a fascination for the formula type Ferrari racing cars for a long time now. The car he is building is a nine tenth scale 1959 
Formula 1 Ferrari Dino 246 replica. It is built to a scale of nine tenths mainly because the original cars wheels and tires are unavailable now hence the car is scaled down to keep everything in proportion. After many years of making radio controlled boats, planes etc. he decided to have a go at something bigger.
The body is fibreglass with a steel panelled centre section. Chassis is a spaceframe of lightweight tubular steel. The front suspension is mainly Toyota Corolla with Triumph Herald shocks and a Mk 1 Cortina rear differential and Herald coil springs. The rear suspension is attached with a four link panhard rod. Gearstick has been placed between the drivers legs in the centre of the car.
George kept this as close to the original as possible. Wheels are after market Dunlop wires.
