Dwayne purchased his Chevron Classic Mk 2 off David Beazer while he was living in Christchurch. A lot of work had already been done but it was still a long way from finished.

The new laws meant that he had to change the engine mounts. Factory EFI was being retained for reliability, improved economy and more get up and go.

He has fitted web lock seat belts behind the seats that run up to a pivot on the roll bar which is chromed with high stop light fitted. The windscreen comes from a McGregor which has been modified to fit his scuttle with a Triumph Herald window wiper assembly, after market chrome side mirrors were fitted along with polycarbonate wind deflectors to reduce buffeting. Fuel tank is from a Datsun with a high volume pump fitted. It also has an additional separate surge tank containing a facet pump that ensures the car has plenty of petrol at all times.

The interior has Pricol gauges with Hella rocker switches for horn, washer bottle, wipers hazards and lights etc... The steering wheel has a MSNZ approved quick release boss kit with a custom alloy centre. Wheels are the 14" Superlites which have been taken back to their original silver colour around the rims. Dwayne has decided not to have a spare and has instead fitted an adjustable luggage rack. If he was going on a trip it would not be hard to convert it hold a spare.

Number plate reads LOW7 which can sometimes be an issue when navigating judder bars and large potholes. Like all Chevrons ground clearance is not something you brag about. However it really suits the Nelson climate where Dwayne now lives with plenty of car free country roads to go out for a blast on a Sunday morning.
