Frank has always had a liking for cars from the classic era and he had always wanted a sportscar. The Almac TG fitted that image exactly. Kit cars are not exactly new in his family as his son Rex has already finished a Chevron. The beauty of this car is that it was finished in twelve months and took about 500 hours to build.
Most of the time he stuck to the plans with the Isuzu front a rear suspension albeit with minor modifications. The front Viva springs were thrown out in favour of some springs especially made to raise the front 40mm. Instruments are VDO set into a Malaysian plywood fascia panel. Seats are from a Mazda 323, upholstered in black leather with black carpet to finish it off.
The body was painted in British racing green by Frank. Headlights are the standard Almac fittings with the taillights being Hella after-market accessories. The front indicators are off a motorbike, discovered when Frank was browsing through a junk shop one day. The gearbox is a Toyota Celica 5 speed. The car was built for touring and with the side screens up (shown in the photo) is very capable of the task with plenty of power for overtaking.
