This Heron was produced originally in 1985 and is one of only 22 cars made by Ross Baker of Rotorua. Walter purchased the car in 1988 and intends to upgrade the current Skoda motor and transaxle to a Nissan SR20 coupled to a Renault transaxle. At the same time he will upgrade the existing Skoda suspension and brakes too.
The wheels that had been stolen before he purchased it have been replaced with Halliday 3 piece mags. The car is unique in many ways its body and chassis is a fibreglass monocoque which was so good that Lotus purchased the patents and now use this design in their cars. The whole front hinges back using special cast aluminium hinges. The windscreen is Escort Mk2.
